PRIVACY
* We neither sell nor share any customer's confidential
information including name, mailing address, e-mail address or phone
number with anyone, ever. Credit card information given at the shop
is destroyed after sales are processed.
CLASS
* Do register for a class or seminar as early as you can so
we may have adequate supplies on hand and in time for you! We must
cancel classes with inadequate enrollment approximately one week
before the scheduled start date. So don't wait and risk missing out
on a class you were looking forward to.
* Unless otherwise noted class fees do not include the cost
of supplies.
* Fees for classes are neither refundable nor transferable,
unless the class is canceled by The Apple Tree or if the class is
full and your place can be filled from a waiting list. A full class
is 26 students.
* Students are required to purchase a painting surface from
The Apple Tree specifically for the class being taken. There is no
requirement to paint on a surface identical to the class sample.
However, if students opt for an alternate surface, it must be
purchased at The Apple Tree for that class. Nothing from the "stash"
at home! We hope you will support our teaching program and keep the
roof over the classroom by purchasing all of your supplies from us!
* Out of consideration for copyrighted material and in
support of the designers in our industry purchase of the pattern
packets used in class is required. In addition, student cameras and
other recording devices may not be used in the shop.
* Students who select an alternate painting surface for class are
responsible for adapting the pattern to the surface before they come
to class. The staff at The Apple Tree is happy to assist you with
your selection of surface and to give you some guidance in adapting
the pattern. Please do not expect the teacher to spend class time
helping you with this procedure.
* Please keep your cell phone ringers turned off or set to
vibrate while you are in class. If you must take a call please exit
the classroom.
SEMINAR
Registration:
* A deposit is required to reserve your space in a seminar.
All deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
* The balance of the seminar fee is due not later than 30
days prior to the start date of the seminar or when you pick up the
project piece, prep instructions, line drawings and supply list,
whichever occurs first. In the event that these items are shipped to
you, the balance of the seminar fee will be included with the total
cost of materials.
Supplies:
* Colored pictures or photos and written instructions are
included in your seminar fee. Paint and mediums used in class MAY be
provided. See the individual seminar descriptions for details.
* Paints and mediums required for prep work are the
responsibility of the student.
* Project pieces for the seminar must be purchased from The
Apple Tree. Supplies needed for the seminar will be available for
purchase from The Apple Tree and, if possible, should be purchased
prior to the seminar start date. In most cases, project pieces and
supplies can be shipped for your convenience.
* Preparation instructions, supply lists and line drawings
will not be released prior to payment in full of the seminar fee.
*Always bring your basic painting supplies to class. Check
the supply list to determine any special supplies that are needed for
the completion of the design.
*It's a good idea to bring a wet palette AND a waxed palette.
General:
* Because seminar designs are copyrighted materials and often
unpublished, we do not allow photographing, or any recording of class
sessions without explicit permission of both the teacher and The
Apple Tree.
* Our classroom is equipped with overhead Ott lights, two TV
monitors and hair dryers for your convenience and use.
* A light lunch is provided each day by The Apple Tree.
* For those of you who may require overnight accommodations
there are several hotels in the area. Please contact The Apple Tree
for a current listing of these hotels.
* Keep cell phone and page ringers set to vibrate or turned
off while in class.
* Hours for seminars are 9 am - 5 pm. There is usually a one
hour break for lunch. Doors open for students at 8:30 am.
Cancellations:
* If you find that you absolutely MUST withdraw from a
seminar please notify the shop as soon as possible.
* You will be entitled to a refund (minus a $25 service fee)
ONLY IF the seminar is fully enrolled AND we are able to fill your
space from a waiting list. Full enrollment is 26 students.
SCHEDULE CONFLICT?
* Too much "life" happening just when you want to take that
terrific class? Not to worry! There's no need to miss out since our
Apple Tree teachers videotape most of our classes.
* Tapes are held for 6 weeks after the conclusion of the
class during which time you may make arrangements to come to the
shop, bring your painting supplies and paint along with the tape.
You can start and stop the tape and paint at your own pace. It's the
next best thing to actually being in class.
* Sorry, tapes may NOT leave the shop.
* Seminar classes may or may not be taped at the discretion
of the teacher/designer.
